Considering how anal the Vette crowed is, that didn't phase them one bit.

Here are a few pics with the complete factory "comb over" intake. What do ya'll think? Thank you for the input on cross member clearance, my goal is 5/8"

Bad ass motor bay you've got there Dinsdale:thumbup:

I guess you'll need to borrow Sterling's hood design?

Not that you need it, but good luck!

Dump the top plenum, split the lower plenum tubes longitudinally and bend outer halves where the tubes are then angled wider towards front. Then weld in front facing ports....

Then force feed it like a Guantanamo detainee.

I think that is the best idea cat dad, a pair of 55 mm tb's, coming off to the side is the answere. We can go n/a for now and once we get the megasquirt dialed in, add boost

I agree though on the manifold design and supercharging. I wonder if a roots type can be made to fit on top of that motor.

TexasDude74 04-20-2014 11:31 PM

Yeah, 871 weiand through the hood. Then Dinsdale would just need some black leather, a leg brace and a sawed off shotgun to complete the look.

xschop 04-21-2014 11:56 AM

Save alot of welding by not chopping off the tubes at the lower intake plenum area....

Some say he is known to add 4 more to the 928 and that his threads bump themselves.

We know him as the Dinsdale!

Looks great, I have a hood that will clear that intake. I'll post pix when I find one.
If you have to ask what's the point or talk about resale value, probably better off sticking to Car and Driver or Motortrend. I'll take Hotrod any day. Anyone can own an all original, just write a check...

I'll put a Cnote on Dins being able to close the hood when the intake is done.
Agree with Danny, maybe get Dins a FORSCHE sticker when its all done.
The people with the least amount of skills or ingenuity are always the ones to cry purity when the manufacturer themselves outsource half the design and work. Carry on my wayward son.

Also interesting that the threads about bastardizing these cars seem to have higher traffic. Case in point, this thread has over 4500 views in 5 days.

Hood scoop . Scoop is not an accurate term for that thing ! It reminds me of an Elephant Seal.
What is hiding [or living] underneath ?
