Default Tensioner Pin lube

I just received my new LASO WP (tx Roger), what kind of lube should I use for the Pin? An anti seize compound or High Temp Grease?...or something else?
Thanks

Which pin are you referring to? The pin that the water pump goes over (2 pins, IIRC) should be dry.
The pin on the pump casting where the roller goes is also dry.

Sorry, I was referring to the Pin that the tensioner arm goes on to (on the water pump)

Leave it dry, that is what the bushings are for.

But be sure that the bushings are in good shape and not worn. 928 105 613 04, $22/ea from 928 Int'l (Porsche wants almost $32).

I put some grease on the pin, after finding mine worn and seized on the pin. New bushings,, new pin, and a film of EP grease on the pin and packing the space between the bushings. I used some handy "brake caliper slide grease", a high-temp long-fiber grease that should stay in place a little better than most common GL-2 greases. Wipe off any excess after the tensioner arm is in place.

Just an FYI, I don't re-use bushings, if that idle arm is coming off it gets new ones.

Anything that isn't metal needs to be replaced on any 928.

exactly ^^^^^

I've seen brand new stock tensioners installed w/ old plastic bushings, why spend that kind of $$$ and then skimp on a plastic part that that system depends on and takes all the punishment?

So there is no harm in adding a little grease...for long longevity.

thanks all!
