Ride height
Hi Guys, I just came back from a suspension specialist who checked my ride height and told me its set up to factory setting, and he thinks its my tires. at this moment I have 215/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. what size tires should I put on to raise the front and rear and keeping the same 17 inch wheels. I will appreciate your feedback. thanks Ed.

Cut a length of coat hanger to spec and double check yourself to be sure. Curious if they SWAG'd it or actually checked at the correct points (tire/well gap is famously variable.)
50 or 55 profile up front would raise it, but seems a really odd way to go. Especially since sidewall profile is fairly impactful on handling.

What width/offset are your rims? Your avatar suggests cup style rims and they are usually configured for a 225 section up front irrespective of whether they are Speedline or ANother.
Rears seem what would be expected on that type of wheel.
If your ride height is OK why would you want to increase it- deep potholes in your neighbourhood?

Fred

I'm sorry to be dense but he thinks what is your tires? Here are a number of links to ride height threads, many with excellent pictures.

I ran sharky at 155-160 front and it handled quite nice with no rubbing-bottoming issues.... the race 928's are WAY lower....I would guess (since I never measured it) both the widow and lemons were under 110mm when 1st lowered.... but both handled BETTER as I the suspension was raised...both would bottom harshly causing a bit of bump steer when super low....as the suspension was raised the suspension would absorb the bumps better with more control...and no harsh bottoming....
Lemons is at its highest front ride height ever due to the low starter...& it also is handling the best it EVER has.....

Maybe his suspension specialist in fact is exactly that ...and have found that his car has correctly adjusted ride height but runs to low in the front due to the fact of the to small diameter of the 215/45-17.....should be 225/45-17...the 255/40 in the back has correct diameter.

Difference in rolling radius between existing 215 and proposed 225 tires is negligible-- ~~4mm if it's the same brand/model tires. That's not a make-or-break on ride height.
Go drive the car long enough to get the suspension settled again (50-100 miles) and measure the height yourself to verify. The links shared above offer several acceptable methods. I use welding rod or wire coathanger cut to lengths, as go/no-go gauges. Use whatever method works for you.

Why? Because it's very hard to measure the front sides correctly. Once you've got a set it makes the job easier and I've measured a bunch of cars a bunch of times. The time to make them is more than paid for.
OP: What's the problem? If the suspension is set correctly than it's correct. We're all missing something here. You think the car is too low?
