Hi VAN, this bracket only works for 87-later. Sorry.

Still one more left. $60 plus $13 USPS Priority shipping.

What is different on the 87, given that the 85 and 86 have the same seats?

I was wondering the same thing since a local 87 has early manual sport seats installed.

^^^
85-86 vs. 87- bottom traverse brackets are different. 85-86 is kind of the 'odd man out'.
Late comfort and sport seats are the same.
Early comfort and sport seats are the same, with no traverse brackets.

Very happy to have picked one of these up. What is a good reasonably priced extinguisher/mount to use guys?

In the original group buy Jim supplied a Safecraft QR (quick-release) bracket 3" dia, pictured here:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/807659-928-classics-new-product-seat-mounted-quick-release-fire-extinguisher-bracket.html

The safecraft.com website is pretty useless, I suggest contacting them directly and posting back here-- I'll do likewise.

We use that with a H3R Halotron extinguisher:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/htr-hg250r

I believe that is the same as the Amerex 2.5# extinguisher, except with shorter handles, for example:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CMUMW5C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

(No affiliation with any of these folks).

Okay, email Steve at steve@safecraft.com or call 800-400-2259
and request the 2.5# model PB billet quick release, for use with a standard ~3" FE. They're ~$165
You may also let him know he doesn't need to supply the 4-bolt backing plate. Or you can remove it before installation.
Hope this helps.
