Default Installation of door locking mechanisms

I had to re-install the locking mechanism in my car yesterday and thought I would post some pictures of what seems like an easy process now, after making time consuming mistakes along the way.

These next pictures are taken through the open window slot on the top of the door. With the weatherstripping removed, I could see what I was doing.

That was it. Hopefully, it helps someone else who has to replace a door lock motor or a locking mechanism.

Outstanding
The annotated pictures are great. I remember removing the weatherstripping being a huge help too as vision into the work area is restricted to say the least. You have my vote as top RRLE*

BTW what was the failure that prompted replacement? Did the motor break or a rod connection? Electrical or mechanical?
