thanks, i ordered it. It's cheaper than buying a large metric tap and die set.
Could not find the rod at home depot, lowes and another hardware store was closed.

My engine is on a stand right now, and what I did is remove one bolt from the front lower arm on each side which is a m12 x 1.5 x 100 and use them to fasten the top two bolts on the engine. You need only two bolts because the lower two bolts holes on the engine have no thread. So I used a 1/2 threaded rod.

I got the bolts in, the engine is on the stand. I am probably going to take it back off and put it on a table soon. Anyways the bolts seem to be a low quality metal, not that strong. I tried supporting the engine with just two bolts for some odd reason and it started bending (tried splitting the engine in two but I need to take off the flywheel to get too one bolt). I am going to finish taking apart the engine tomorrow after I pick up my 928 from the transmission place. The engine I am working on has a scratch or two in a bore or two. I am probably going to have to get it bored out or re-plated.

Do a search about boring and re-ringing these motors. They're different and can easily be ruined by "standard" techniques. Search for bore scratches, too, and compare pix and recommendations to yours.
