I also trimmed the edges of the old stock defroster vents to fit the new dash vents as per robs instructions

here i am installing the foam supplied by rob.
I will have to honestly say that the directions he supplies are missing some points that i felt were important. I don't know if i did the right thing where there were gaps in the info...

here are a few more.
i will finish tomorrow and post the rest.
a few of these pics are showing the cover folded back. you are supposed to glue one half at a time

here are some pics of the practically finished dash. i still have to finish some of gluing the fabric inside the side vent ports, etc...
The dash came out pretty good. there are a few small errors, but i am happy with the finished prouct..
Fr e the vents were the biggest headache. I misunderstood the directions and did not cut out large enough for the vents. i had to pea back the material and enlarge them... MAJOR pita...

Bob recently sent me some better pictures of how to cut the dash than the ones in the instructions - much clearer. What did you use to cut the dash?

i did not realize but the vents go down into the dash and cover, NOT sit on top.
I thought that the flange at the top of the vent sat on top and covered the cover, so when i initially trimmed i left the recommended 1/8" gap around the area UNDER the flange... BIG MISTAKE...
with the foam and cover the bottom lip will not catch the metal on the dash.
I did not figure this out until i went to install the covers. It was a major pita to pull back the cover and shave back the foam and original vinyl and not damage the new cover.. it took me twice as long to do that as to install the cover....
as for pricing, i cant remember the cost.. it was pretty expensive for the alcantara, but it looks great.
the pictures don't do it justice they fail to show the grain.

If I ever do mine (still looks pretty good) I will fill the concave surfaces to make them straight to eliminate the possibility of a future pull-away. The original leather has a tendency to do this from shrinkage.
