I will try to sell it.
I decided that storing the car would probably not work as I would like, so my international move makes me sell it.

I hope that you get what you're asking. However, I'm sorry to say that I don't think you will. IMO, it's worth $10k-12k. I know that others won't agree, but they can prove me wrong by buying it, then everyone's happy.

Know how many 1989 928S4 5-speeds were made? Not very many. The rest were labeled as 928GT's.
Don't rain down on his unfortunate circumstances...

I've also seen a lot of cars stick on the market, which makes me think that the asking prices were unrealistic. You only need one person willing to pay an inflated price though, and people on here do a great job of convincing people that they can get prices that I wouldn't pay. However, that does a disservice to people that need to sell in reasonable time IMO.
I've been in the position of having to sell a car quickly before relocating too. It's not fun, especially if you start too high. I sold my wife's car the day before flying to the US. If I'd have started lower, it'd been much less stressful, *and* I've have got a better price for it.

The car would bring good money if not for that darned corrosion.
I would have fixed that before i listed it.
Black (non metallic) paint is easily blended.
I think it would be money well spent. (Get it back in sale price)
It's an easy repair in that location.
It's nice to see all the detail in the description of the car.
The driver's seat is in amazing condition. Must have had very
considerate owners before you. Engine looks amazing too.
Very nice S4
Good Luck.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I've been wondering about the corrosion points myself, they certainly don't help. I will likely quote a repair and if not too bad, might get it done.
In terms of the seats, these are the ones it had when I got the car and I was thinking these were the Sport Seats. If not, the previous owner had them replaced and that could explain their good condition for the mileage (?)
Thanks

I know you're busy with the move so my suggestion would be to go to a body shop that you know of or a friend knows and recommends.
It's always best if there is some personal connection to the shop.
This is not a tricky job, any shop should be able to do it well.
A small job like this down in FL should not cost much.
If you decide to get it done,
Remove or make sure they remove the quarter windows so it is done right.
Many will try and skip this to save time. I would pull them myself before i dropped it and..
Ask them to bead blast the corrosion, if i can do this, they sure can.
Ask for pics of the area before it is finished with epoxy primer-filler/sealed&painted. As i said this is an easy area and paint color to blend.
If done right & well people here will appreciate it and possibly buy your car.
I am sure many here are watching and waiting to see what happens on ebay.
Good luck with everything.

Btw, an '89 manual is pretty rare and 1989 is a good model year.

Yes, I'm aware that an '89 manual is desirable. I do hope that the asking price is realised within his timescales. It does look very well looked-after.

A deadline to sell before moving is not a recipe for getting top dollar. We have seen it happen on this forum before when it gets down to the last month or two weeks.

There's a lot of great advice on here, but I often see pricing advice that doesn't look realistic to me. As I said before, being supportive of someone needing to sell is suggesting a price that will enable them to do so.
