Alan
Sorry for the delay - here is my 1986 ROW panel. VIN WP0ZZZ92ZGS841887
Panel part no 928.610.105.13

There are a few relay differences that I have marked in blue on your pdf file for 1986 cars - file attached.
There are also strangely some fuse locations that do not have an input wire (marked with red triangles) or an output wire (marked with blue triangles) although some of the items - lights and central locking are present and working - very baffling!!
I have also attached two photos of the rear of the panel covering fuse locations 1-25 and 26 - 45.

Regards
Jay

Jay thanks. I have had lots else to do in March and made little progress here. It was also obvious that being finished with evaluations by early march was not possible for many owners due to weather - so I'll be trying to wrap this up soon (at least the feedback stage - anyway).

The fuseholders with no output connections are for unused or unpopulated options (e.g. telephone), no point in having fuses installed there.

The apparent lack of inputs is deceiving - those inputs are connected to adjacent fuse inputs within the fuseholder block (e.g. you can't see it no matter how hard you look)...

Alan's chart was spot on & better than any other resource I could find in the prep stage of refreshing my CE Panel refresh- and equal in value to the Porsche Owner's Manual for my 1984 928 S (US) L-Jet... one change, noted in my documentation, #5 fuse installed was 8A and is now 16A.

My documentation & Alan's PDF I used in addition to Manual (attached) + picture of panel (before plugs re-attached).

Oh... I should also add that originally (as in upon taking possession of my car), I noticed a number of VW relays were installed- and their related devices not working properly.

Taking a closer look- which I'm sure many have done before- if a relay's external wiring diagram has any meaning (which it should) it may explain why so many of the PO's (VW) relays were going bad so often...

(VW on top, Porsche on bottom... that extra line between 85 & 86 is a resistor, right?)

Nice catch, yaskota. I'm guessing you're right. Thanks.

Alan,
Referencing post 117, your (very nice!) relay chart showing what positions are occupied by MY.
Please consider one change, assuming you haven't already captured it in a later version somewhere.
MY 1984, Relay position XI.
Chart shows "not used in this year"
False.
Indeed used in 1984 -- for antilock brakes.
This was optional for USA market, but I think it was standard equipment for ROW.

Verifications --- a) Workshop manual Current Flow Diagram #97-191 for 84 ROW b) Workshop manual Current Flow Diagram #97-193 for 84 USA/Japan c) CE panel, my Euro 84 car.

From the USA version of the diagram for 84----

Adding to that... my '84 (US) does not have antiblock brakes, and relay is empty. However (I think courtesy Mr Edwards), the option code is:

M593
Antiblock System (Bosch ABS) # Vehicles Produced: 3567

Hi, Alan
Had an occasion to question the fuse assignments on my car, and I remembered this thread and reviewed it.

It doesn't appear you've had feedback on '89, so I checked your '89 US diagram against my '89 CE panel cards and found everything as your diagram indicates except Relay 19 Roman on your diagram is 'XIX' rather than 'IXX'.

The panel card has part number 928.610.023.03 at the bottom and a logo and 928.610.211.09 with the words Siebdruck Folz (silkscreen Folz) at the top; I'm guessing the number at the bottom is the panel number. If you need confirmation, I'll take a look a the panel itself. I'm curious whether I have the fuse puller so I can find that out as well.

Default daytime driving lights

On the 1992-1995 cars, relay #6 is light purple (I got it from a Canadian dealer, forget number) and controls the daylight driving lights.
