I designed the carrier to be easily removable. Why? I have no idea other than, again, I didn't want to drill holes through to the inside and pass screws through. It's located by the pieces of aluminum that it fits to like a puzzle. The pins sticking out just hold it down with wavy washers, then stainless washers, and finally the cotter keys.
I feel like I should own a portion of Mcmaster-Carr now.

I tried to figure out how to make the rods that join all the bits of linkage. I will have three in total. Aluminum might have expansion issues (I don't really know), steel seemed boring and heavy, so I finally gave in to something a little more elegant. I ordered carbon fiber tubes and aluminum ferrules that where pre-threaded on the inside to match the heim joints. Some quick work on the lathe on both ends and they fit like a glove, with the outside just bigger than the O.D. of the carbon tube. I'm getting the inserts anodized along with the aluminum throttle arm and possibly a few other pieces at the same time (Wing uprights? Intercooler? Who knows). After some research I plan to glue the pieces together with Loctite 680 and some fine glass beads from the sandblaster mixed in. The glass beads are a nifty tip from an SAE forum about retaining the machined ends in carbon suspension members. I made a couple extra inserts and have extra tube to do destructive testing with.

Thanks guys. This should make sense out of what I have been rambling. The bent up pieces of welding rod are temporary to show how it joins. The real ones will go on when the anodizing is done.

Hey all. In the last year I've met a new girl that I'm likely about to be engaged to. My father has passed way from Parkinson's disease, which before and after put a particularly hard load on my mom. The shop has been very busy. I haven't lost any enthusiasm about my project and have accumulated a decent bit more parts towards the project. A few things could be posted now, but I'll be back with a real update soon.

You should keep updating the thread as parts come in. This despite the obvious risk that a bald guy will drive here in a corvette and start educating the public about how this has all been done before, others are making 1200hp, how nitrous oxide and E85 is widely available, etc.
