Default Sequential VIN's

Rob
Would these be sequential VINs? Came off the assembly line in sequence?
WPOJBO925GS861188 &
WPOJBO927GS861189
Thanks!

92A0820159 - the '2' in the 6th position means 4.7 liter 300 hp motor (Euro S).

1980
C22- Belgian Market
000000- engine type not listed, should be a M28.11 Euro S motor
G00000- transmission type not listed, should be G28.05, serial # range 11 05001>09999

M058- "Impact absorbers front and rear, Bumper with shock absorber instead of
shock absorber-tube"
M197- Stronger battery (88 Ah)- Norway, Finland, Denmark, Canada, Sweden
I422- Cassette-radio Porsche CR stereo (ROW version)

WP0JB0925GS861188 & WP0JB0927GS861189 are indeed sequential US/Canada model VIN numbers, whether they came off the line sequentially, I don't know. Porsche built 928s for 23 different countries' markets in '86, certainly the ROW cars were configured differently and I don't know how many 'lines' there were in the factory, or how cars for different markets rolled off the line. In batches, or ???

Perhaps Erkka knows?

Thanks Rob - 1188 is mine and 1189 posted here a few weeks ago. Interesting coincidence

If this isn't a car you can verify in person, be a little cautious- my statement below is based on prior discussions here on RL and by inference about the '2' in the VIN- it's not explicitly called out in the 1980 service info book, nor in the 78-80 tech specs book.

Thanks so much Rob!
