Hi, I'm new here - from reading the "NEW VISITOR? Here are some answers to frequently asked questions." post, I learned that you provide this cool check

Would it be ok to ask for a VIN check of a car that's for sale (so it's not mine [yet]) ...?

If so, I'd be happy to get the results for WP0ZZZ92ZDS840614

Hi

I have received confirmation of the following from an official Porsche dealer:
VIN: WP0ZZZ92ZGS849658
Engine: M28/44
Trans: A2807

This is the same VIN as mentioned by Axel.
There is, however, no service history. Can I get more information on this car anywhere? I know it's imported from Japan, and that it has a 5 l 292 hp engine.

Thanks
Paul

Trivia point, not sure I've ever seen this TSB before, but I came across a blurb about the addition of the rear cargo area VIN sticker being added to 911s and 928s starting May 16, 1983. So I guess really late '83s might have the decal (?)

Last VIN for '83 US 911 coupe, targa and cabrio were 2599, 1430 and 1781. Based on those numbers about last 10% of the MY production can have sticker.

Thanks a lot, Rob!
As I mentioned in the previous post, the car has been imported without a service history. It only comes with a certificate of authenticity by Porsche Norway, as well as the ownership documents and a 111-point check commissioned by the importer. He said that the odometer seems to have been tampered with somewhat as it states 81000 km in the last official reading, but says 60000 now. I've asked a colleague in Tokyo to do some research on the service history, so will see what she comes up with. Would you recommend to simply walk away right away, or can I get the information I seek somewhere else?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Rgds,
Paul

Hi Axel
I'm considering buying this car, but seeing that there is limited vehicle history (number of owners, service intervals and odometer) I'm looking to get more info on the car. I'm a member on rennlist, and I saw your posting. You've obviously researched the same car. Could you share information about it or give some pointers as to where to look?
Thanks in advance!
Paul
