WP0CA2999XS653674 is some sort of '99 911 variant. Sorry, don't have any options data on non-928s.

Yes, should be a twin dizzy 84 Euro S. It's a Swedish market car, so it should have 9.3 compression instead of 10.4, and a different LH brain, can't remember how much of a horsepower deficit that produces. I want to say 275 vs. 310 hp.

Are you sure about this?

http://www.usedautopartdepot.com/PORSCHE/928.php

This article mentions the swedish/swiss changes you are talking about, but only for MY 85 and 86, not for MY 84. It does not seem to have the option code "M151 Engine with deferring Parts - Switzerland, Sweden, Australia" either.

Do you have any information saying something else?

Thanks for digging up the options by the way!

How nice for them to copy Wikipedia including page format commands and all.

M151 is interesting question. There is paper trail for such beast but its not known how it was actually implemented. Only sure cases are early '85 MY C23 Australia cars. 44 out of 163 cars have the code. It is possible that it is for example included in Swiss and Swedish country code. CoA for such car could have more info than PET. Opening up original engine would definitely provide proof.

Early US '79. Beyond that I got nuthin'. Sorry! Porsche are the only folks that have option data for 78 and 79, they'll happily sell you a list for your car

Are you sure about this?
Not at all- I have no firsthand experience, it's all just reading through factory documents. The WSM page on Euro S pistons says 84/85/86, but who knows? If I were looking at a car that I needed to decide had high vs. low comp pistons, I'd get a $10 USB borescope on Ebay and pull a sparkplug and give the engine a colonoscopy. The difference in the dish should be obvious.

WSM, page 13-24b:
