Well, we had a great day at Laguna Seca today. And I am happy to tell the tale because I sat just 10 meters away from where the wheel ended that broke off car no.20 and landed in the grandstand after turn 4. I am happy the wheel did not fall on my head, it was this close! The wheel broke off, complete with suspension, and bounced over the fence into the grandstand just over the edge where nobody sat. Nobody was hurt luckily but the driver did not seem to care a lot. His car crashed into the tires and he was lucky to walk away I guess.

Hi, I don't know your name but I absolutely saw your car. The beautiful white one. I made a number of pictures from the engine bay to help me get things right on my car!

AOL autos quite get it right. They think it is only the tire that bounced over the fence. Not so. The wheel broke off at the center, leaving the rest of the rim in the fully inflated tire. This made the tire bounce. The weight of the tire + rim was enough to kill some spectators. SOme people just used up all their luck here.

Here is a few pictures of the 928s at the event. Mine is the white one of course
The two 928s in the concours. The left one is a Weissach special edition model with 68K miles, from AZ. It was a beautiful original car.
My sign:
Johns sign
the first place winning car- a 15K mile 83 944- original owner. Car was immaculate and my pick for first place. Im happy that this was the car that took first.
Getting judged: (everyone was in the same class, which did not include chassis.)
the "trophys", hand blown glass vases, with red/blue stripes and a gear logo like the event logo.
A modified 928....
in the corral.

your car is beautiful. I'd love to bring mine to that show some day, (I assume this will become a continuing event during car week)
