If a rat rod is done right it can be very nice.

I do think this minerva car has just the right original paint wear to be a nice one.

Too little patina or wear doesn't have the effect.

Kevin can always choose to paint it some day.

I'm sure that's part of it. You have two options with paint and other 'visual' items: either you spend untold money getting it back to factory, or you learn to live with the defects. Even better if you can learn to appreciate the defects. Sure, it's an aesthetic, but it's also a way to gracefully accede to the inevitable. Everything ages. Patina on a mechanical object is like wrinkles, gray hair, and scars on a person: they show well-earned experience.

Getting old may suck, but it beats the alternative!

Kevin...are you related to Caractacus Pott (Potts in the movie)? If not, say yes anyway, cuz I like believing that you are.

Patina is usually weather and age but when they get that bad we can call it patina all we want but it is still just a car in desperate need of body and paint work. That being said Kevin is and has been a loyal and wonderful friend to me and my Family as well as an asset to my shop so I want to offer him full body and paint , when he is ready , on the house!
