Default Does drain hole in fuel filler neck drain into tank?

Sorry if this is obvious, but I'm adding some fuel stabilizer and wondering if the bottle neck doesn't go far enough to push to actual fuel flap open am I right in thinking it will get to the fuel by way of the drain hole in the fuel filler neck?

The fuel spill hole is just that, it drains to environment and not into the tank.

Yeah, that. It's a little hose that runs down the inside of the fender. New cars don't have them.

Curious, what stop fuel from leaking out this hole?

I'm thinking when my tank is filled up in Robinson, TN with all the twisties enroute to SITM, that's what causes my right rear fender to be fuel stained. I have another tank in the attic waiting to install, just haven't got around to it since it only happens once a year.

Anyone else ever have fuel leak on hard cornering after filling up?

I'm sure a cap would help though.

Your gas cap is leaking allowing fuel into the overflow system. I had the exact same problem and fixed it by replacing the cap. If you look at the underside of your cap I bet the lock cylinder cover is missing. This can happen quite easily if you drop your gas cap any distance and it hits the ground just right the cover will pop right off as a clean break. When this is the case fuel can readily leak through the lock cylinder into the overflow bellows. Only happens when the tank is full enough and you drive hard enough (left hand turns mostly) which fits your symptoms to a T...

Thanks guys,

I know the hole in the outer rubber gasket drains, but I'm talking about the one in the metal fuel neck. Does that drain into the tank.

I ask because I have already put stuff that drained into there, so want to be sure whether or not it made it to the tank.

To be clear, here is a shot of the neck with the two holes. I'm asking about the upper one just outside the fuel tank flap.

the smallish hole next to the spring loaded flapper/ in the metal unleaded restrictor does indeed let the drips go into the tank.
