Fiberglass Rear Wing Group Buy?

I did an S4 conversion a couple of years back. If you do plan to remove your old spoiler, it's a bit challenging, but by no means impossible. You can always defray some of the additional expense of quarter trim, etc. by selling your old spoiler (if it's any good) on eBay. That's what I did.
Drilling the holes for the wing is not for the faint of heart. Measure, measure, and measure again. Start with small holes and check your alignment. Continue to drill usiing bits of increasing diameter until you get the correct size. This will minimize any deformation due to the drilling. Remember, too that the hatch is steel, so the newly exposed metal must be protected against rust. You should also use something to seal around the holes to prevent water from getting in. I used a 3M weatherstrip adhesive that has remained very pliable. I used the same stuff around the window trim, too.

I have all my parts ready for wing installation. I procured an S4 hatch from Jack Riffle. I had bolted the wing for fit. It is a great fit. I will be prepping the wing and hatch for painting right after I install my Supercharger from Andy.
If someone is looking for the hatch trim, give me a shout before I list that and many mor eparts on ebay next week.

I have mine fitted. It was easy. I put tape over the area where the wing would bolt on, then placed the wing on where I wanted it to go. Once it's in place, just draw a line around the base to use as a guide. Then I used a piece of thin cardboard cut to the shape of the bottom of the wing mounting surface. I punched holes to line up with the bolts and placed 'em over the outlines on the tape. Drill as indicated.
The wing fits nice.
It wasn't hard to finish sand, just a few wrinkles to fill.
I plan on painting it in the next couple of weeks.

No install yet, but I have the feather fill, sand paper and sundries ready to go. I hope to get mine done before the next Sharkfest
Would I do it again, YOU BET!
A group buy with Brendan C. in charge? He worked this deal like a pro, I would get in on another group buy with him any day without reservation.

Brining up an old thread here...
Brendan, were you ever able to get that 3rd brake light installed? I was thinking about doing this mod myself - and thought I should see if you were successful or not before I try the same.

Andrew - I never even tried. I say one on ebay that couldn't sell for 300 with all that work, and when I painted my car, it was the chance I had to paint the prepped (alot of prep) wing the same color, so it went in with the car. Now that its painted, I have no interest in it anymore. I have toned down some projects that might stop me from driving the car sooner, if you know what I mean.
H - no pics of the wing, but I can take some with my camera if you wanted.

Brendan- Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of putting an LED strip in the wing and was wondering if anyone had done it. Searched the archives and it looked like you were the closest. Oh well.. Maybe I need to embark into uncharted territory.
