Okay guys (and gals?), we have a launch.

Please send Cahsier's checks or Money orders to me at:

Brendan Campion
4002 Craven Road, Ste. 4
Oceanside, CA 92057

Make the check payable to: BETTER BODIES MOTORSPORT DESIGN.

Please also include your full name, address for shipping, and phone numbers by which I can contact you day or early evening - and say which one to use when. I don't want to be waking up any sleeping newborns when I should have called work.

I will cataloug these checks (cheque for those brits involved) with the names and addresses, and will present them to Better bodies. We are way over 10, so start sending them. 150 dollars.

The shipping will be handled this way:

MOST cases will be shipped for FREIGHT COLLECT, meaning you will need to be there to sign and pay for the shipping cost. Better Bodies does this often, so I guess it works. That is why I ask for a day time shipping address.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at brendancampion@***.net
If you wish to hear my voice, then email me and I will provide the phone number that you can reach me at most of the time. The actual pruchase will probably be made the week after next - The reason is that I need enough time to count for the stragglers. The builder will then start making them or shipping the ones he already has ready.

Finally, PM me with the same info you will be including in the letter to me, so that I will have an electronic record as well.

This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds......

The message I'm getting is that Brendan wants us to use Money Orders or Cashier's checks. Paypal would be simple, but if Brendan wants to do all the legwork I'm gonna do what he wants.

Paper only, right, Brendan?

OK, I picked a money order and its in the mail Brendan. What can us pre-S4 guys expect with mounting and drilling and getting it straight so we don't go down the road side ways, you know, the higher the velocity the more of an effect this thing will have on stability. Its nice to be stable at 150 mph!

Paper Simon. Just paper.

If this sours a few people, then I guess thats what it does, and we will still probably have at least ten.

I run a business, and I deal with people's money every single day. I COULD take cash, but I don't. I COULD have a personal account through which I could pass my customer's cash, and then write a check to the company I represent, but I don't.

Its the same thing with paypal. My paypal account has MY name on it. So you would be paying me to pay the manufacturer. I don't like that responsibility for something even as simple as this.

So we are going to do MONEY orders or CASHIERS checks (cheques) PAYABLE to BETTER BODIES MOTORSPORT DESIGN, and I will present these funds to the gentleman there and he will make the wings and send them out freight collect.

My address is up a few messages.

Gerry - the mounting and drilling will not be something that I would call "easy" but I am sure, with you being a 1990 750IL owner, that you can get down and dirty with the mounting of the wing properly. Anyone who can keep a 928 AND a 750 on the road can essentially do anything, right?

The only issue I hear is that with the removal of the S wings, there are some "holes". I am unsure on what size the holes are.

No sweat, Brendan. I was just trying to explain what I thought the deal was to Gerry.

You've done a great thing here.

S-4 wing on an S.....Brendan "The only issue I hear is that with the removal of the S wings, there are some "holes". I am unsure on what size the holes ..." The issue is IF you remove the rubber lip spoiler the small end parts on the 1/4 panel are screwed to brackets on the painted part below the window and will show . The trim and rubber around each 1/4 window is all different . The trim around the rear hatch window is different , under the lip spoiler there is NO TRIM at all ....So you need new 1/4 window seals about $75 each , new 1/4 trim about $65 per window , used rear hatch trim from either very early or S-4 figure $150 or so and touch up paint on the 1/4 panels where the bracket mounted . Or you can trim a bit of the rubber spoiler on the hatch and go biplain wing with two "spoilers" which looks better than it sounds . California residents probably need to include sales tax . Overseas shipping will be expensive AND I doubt they will be done "collect" .

Wow Jim, are you trying to discourage me or something with all that about removing the old S spoiler? Anyway, I have seen a few 'biplane' 928's out there and I kind a like the look of both the S spoiler and the S4 wing and I plan on trying that approach. Not to sure about aerodynamics with this configuration though. I guess it depends on how much clearance there will be between them so the air flow will be undisturbed over the bottom of the wing which is the low pressure side of the airfoil.

Brendan- The money order is on the way (only 90 cents at the post office) and I thank you for such a great Idea. We should do more of these group buys. I think I can handle the installation though I still have to straighten the hatch out a little bit more and fill in a hole in the bumper from a wicked spin out and collision with a NY fire hydrant going back wards at about 40 mph. These 928's are tough as nails. Any other car and it would have been demolished sure enough.

The 750 12 cylinder is also one beautiful demonstration of German brilliance. Great car even though the tranny is now slipping due to getting stuck in a snow drift this winter and rocking back and forth trying like hell to get out. Please do not try that- you will ruin your transmission, I can guarantee it! A rebuilt one is on its way over for only $1450! The front struts are shot and the rear self leveling (big bucks) shocks are kaput and I think the ball joints are now on there way out to pasture also. Other than that, I love the car! My kids just go bananas over all that beautiful leather and reclining rear seats way out in the back there on long road trips. A 928 handles much better though!

My intent was to clarify the question of "how many holes" what was involved IF you remove the rear S spoiler . I felt it better if people could make an informed decision and avoid the shock when they started removing the rubber lip spoiler and realized that parts were going to be missing needed to finish the installation . And I did state that the "biplane" look actually is not that bad . As far as aerodynamics it really makes little difference either way . No spoiler S spoiler S-4 wing both wings or Mark Anderson's "huge wing" for speed GT .....the big $$$ Corvette teams windtunnel tested the spec wing and got almost NOTHING for down force .

Great to see wisdom come from all angles. Hope everyone keeps adding their insight to make everyone as knowledgable as they can on all adventures.

I will have the money order in the mail on Friday. No it's not payday. Just extremely busy getting ready for the weekend.

Brendan, I pursched a wing from them 3 years ago. The wing has 4 1/4-20 threaded holes for mounting. On mine, there were in the wrong place to bolt to the hatch. Contacted betterbodies, they sent me new attaching hardware that I installed with a strong eboxy. Measured carefully when installing them. Then drilled holes on the outer lip of the wing and attached with allen-head screws. Had it painted same as car. Looks great. I also had it sanded smooth prior to paint.
