Lol...yea, I figured I would end up with fuel where it did not belong....i hope to get my credit card paid down a tad so I can squeeze an accumulator onto it!

I'm resurecting an old post here after a search on the forum about fuel accumulators. I'll have to change mine on my Shark when it will get out of storage If ever the summer arrives
I'm searching and searching and the cheapest I found is around $325 beside shipping, customs, taxes etc etc etc,
Everytime I find one at an online store at a more normal price (around $200) they cancel the sale cause not in stock.
I'm tired of parts sold 3 times the price they worth. I'm not buying a Rolex it's just a fuel accumulator.
I also own a DeLorean and the part is identical beside the fittings and it is sold for more than the half of the price.
Anybody tried to change that part for another more common accumulator with other fittings??

In an older post around this subject I read that using a couple of feet of flexible fuel line has the same effect as the fuel accumulator. I doubt that but perhaps it does the job temporarily. It is better than a leaking fuel accumulator in terms of safety, but I don't know if there are any unwanted side effects.
For the moment I think I'll buy Roger's fuel accumulator. Mine is suspect to leaking too.

I'm changing mine because of hot starting problem. It has no fuel leak (not yet).
I just had a call from a guy at a local autoparts retailer after I asked him to search for Bosch part# 0438170026 and he told me that there were no jobber parts to replace and that he found it in Europe and that it would cost $104 cdn ($90 us)
It would be the deal of the century!!!
He told me it's a non returnable item so I must be sure of the part number. I asked him clearly to be sure that it is a Bosch part and he assured me it is.
Is 0438170026 right?
If it does'nt work I'll buy Roger's too

Since yours is a '79, the late 026 accum should work.

Visually inspect your 928. If the inlet and outlet are on the top: early (also, there will also be a single orifice on the bottom)

If the inlet and outlet are on the bottom (with no single orifice on top): late

that is an early with only two lines....later had three. They added a return so when the diaphragm fails gasoline does not leak out the air bleed hole on the end it gets returned to the tank. If yours is NOT LEAKING it is probably working just fine...

JB, I've seen you write that before, and you have it mixed up.

Early 022 has 3 holes, Late 026 has 2 holes. Change occurred somewhere in late '78.

Is it possible to buy a pressure gauge with the same setup already assembled somewhere like in this link? :
