question for owners from Ontario (Canada)
Just wondering where you order your parts from if you only want a few small items (gaskets, etc....) and don't want to pay large shipping fees or endure the wait times ordering from the US?
thanks

Depends. I use Roger at 928's R us and he will just send it in the regular mail. Takes a week or two though, but cheap to ship that way. The others might do that as well. But I have had good luck with Roger.
If they are bigger items or more expensive I usually have it shipped to the states and go over to pick it up.
If I need to pay the I need it now tax I get overnight or go to the dealer. For a gasket or two the dealer has worked ok for me.
Is that your Deloreon? Super cool car.

I have been using Roger exclusively, but it is hard to justify $20 or more to ship a couple small items (that I always forget to add to my big orders!)
Yes, its a 1981 DeLorean...I think you asked about it before and I said I would take it to one of the AW cruise nights on Hwy 7 (that never happended)....I have been so busy this summer I barely drove the thing
But I did manage to put 2000km on the Porsche!

I'm in alberta and I also use Roger (928Rus) reg mail (US Post) is the best.
any kind of currier charges DHL freight and is normally about $30 or more.
you can ask Martin on the 928 OC forum as he lives in Ontario

Roger, 928 Int or sometimes the VW dealership or sometimes at my local auto parts supplier I can get lucky but really it all depends on what you need, sometimes small gaskets can be made yourself, some small electrical parts can be bought at a local electronics supply. Sometimes its cheaper just to buy a parts car too.

Roger is the master but even he cannot control the black hole of customs. Use USPS and the shipping portion is not bad but expect 10 days or so.
For next day I go to the dealer as with the PCA membership you get a discount.

I do not have the custom's issue that you folks on the other side of the river have so I can't address it. What I have found is that dealers here do not have the parts and I have to wait whether I go to them or Roger. That being the case I have found Roger easier and often cheaper to go to, even for small items.

Mostly Roger here also, straightforward, simple, and always as expected. I do try to organize my purchases so as to maximize the freight cost, but sometimes you'll need something you weren't anticipating, I still use Roger for the small orders, don't have time, patience, or knowledge to track stuff down locally here in a smaller centre.

Roger as well.
I go to the states fairly often so I try to organize my shipments. Also in the past I have ganged items up with other members, like when Murray and I had our x-pipes shipped together and Picked them up.
I will be in Niagara Falls on Friday, so if anyone needs anything get Roger to ship it in my name and I can pick it up. He has the address on file.

Three Wheelin'
One of the big 3, i usually order batches of parts to get the most moneys worth out of the shipping fees. My philosophy is that the bigger the bill is, the smaller the shipping charge looks. My Dad's got a place in Florida so i just get parts shipped there whenever he's down there, then he brings them across the border when he drives home. Although the last batch of parts was quite a lot, so they questioned him about the value of the parts. Got called at 2AM in the morning from my Dad to see if i have receipts for the parts i bought online, forwarded those receipts to the customs officer and he only got charged like 20$ tax for the amount that was over the limit.

Roger mostly, but I also try to by from the other three 928 suppliers because it is invaluable to have so much availability of 928 parts relatively local to us.
