Hi All

In the process of swapping out my alternator, pulley fan has a nasty bend in it. Should i try and straighten this back or just leave well enough alone, meaning will straightening it fatigue the metal?

Seems like it should straighten out without issue, but wanted to check with you folks who know way more than i do.

Turn that fan over, place on a solid work surface,
with a mallet and piece of hardwood work the bend.

Start at the edges of the bend and move to the edge of the fan,
you should be able to reform the fan.

Make it look as flat as possible,
and make sure the rear fan blades dont touch the alternator housing

UPDATE;This worked a treat, not quite perfect but pretty darn close!

Its not really under any stress there anyway - so as Stan says - straighten away... It won't take much and doesn't have to be perfect to be much better
