If looking for other hotel options, you might try PriceLine. They have a bidding zone in Marble Falls and you could get lucky.

We stayed up at the LaQuinta on the top of the hill a couple of years ago for the Thursday night before everybody arrived and it was pretty nice. Get the side with the Balcony, it gives a better view of the lake than the Hampton does.....

Its a good alternative and very close to all the parking lot stuff going on at the Hampton, there and back in a few minutes....

Lonnie that is interesting - I called last night and the hotel is oversold - called this morning after seeing your post and the hotel is still oversold with no rooms available - same number by the way.

OK, registered and have reservations at the Hill Country Inn just up the road - very reasonable.

Mike and I plan on making a trip to Hampton Pool Preserve on Friday 11/1 after breakfast. (he doesn't know it yet - lol - so, MIke - Here's your message).

I keep trying time and time again to get to that place and am always denied (they have a limit of 75 cars in the park). I'd like to see a line of cars beat me there on 11/1! Ha!

Anyway, it's been in movies and it's supposed to have a beautiful waterfall (when the water levels are up). I know you would have seen it in Brad Pit's movie Tree of Life, and in another famous movie there was some naked actress at the falls - although i don't know I'm sure mike knows, probably predator or something.

It's about a 1/2 mile hike down to the falls and the drive there is beautiful.

Hamilton pool is awesome. It's a scenic walk to get to it from the parking lot. Sometimes they close the pool to swimming when there is a lot of rain and runoff due to bacteria build up, but it's still worth seeing. The caravan from Houston will be passing close by on 71 about 4-4:30 ish, so we might be able to join up for the drive back to MF (not that any of us could keep up with Mike)
