I have owned several V8 FI cars without dampers and have never experienced any thumping sounds (of course I am not sure they were batch types - MBZ 450SL, Audi V8, Mustang, Sm block Camaro).

Thanks
I have not had any thumping sounds (at least not from the fuel system).
Got a serious stutter right now from one injector not firing, but that's a different issue.

Your car should run 100% stock until boost comes on. This means no need for an adjustable regulator, just the stock one is needed and an FMU dialed in for the amount of boots.

I would so pick up boost directly from the plenum, not the throttle body, to "feed" the FMU.
I would also have a boost gauge tee'd into the same line.
This is an "early warning" system that your FMU is not seeing boost if the gauge is reading zero.
I will check on that dampener. as for the rest of this stuff, its already been in place since I installed the SC three years ago. Car runs at completely stock parameters with no boost.
