I'm going to clean this area on my 91 S4. The coil and box doesn't look too bad but some cleanup will be good I know. Where is the condensate drain located and how do you clean it? Mine is not plugged but it does drain slowly so I think I need to find it and clean it out also. I've looked under the car and haven't found it there.

Thanks

IS there any significant difference in this process on an OB?

There should be a drain hole on the driver's side of the evaporator chamber which exits in the region under the expansion valve. I used a 'grabber' (one of those long tools to pick up nuts that fall into the 'V' during manifold work) to pull out particulates from evaporator chamber BEFORE rinsing any of it into the drain hole. The drainage hose (22) runs down behind the bellhouse to drain by the exhaust. This drain hose also receives from the manifold (name ?) low in the center console (45).
Don't use a metal snake to clean hose out from the bottom up. You can make your way up to the evaporator and damage it or the resistor pack. Use a hedge trimmer line (the same you use for the sunroof drains) and be reasonably gentle.

I don't believe there is any significant difference in the evaporator drainage other than the shape of the drainage hose.
