It's a little known fact that the origin of our delectable and yummy "crosisant" owes its existence to the Siege of Vienna of 1863 (or '4' ... give or take a bunch of undermining tunnel or two).
Whillst over-run (and saved) by the Hapsburgs, the Turks displayed on their 'crescent moon' flag, copied by their pastry cooks and bakers both the inspiration needed both to feed and rout the Turkish Army ranks.
In the course of time this Pastrie De Resistance made it's way to France and evolved into what we now enjoy as The Croissant. (Crescent).

Hey North Jersey 928ers--
The meet this Sunday (April 13) will be held at Paul Miller Porsche in Parsippany. They will have the new and used showrooms open, as well as refreshments. It starts at 8:30 and they warn you to get there early because these are most well-attended events.
I always intend to go to these when they are at Porsche dealers. I think it might be fun to walk around some of the new cars. It might be fun to ask the dealer what support is available (that is, none) and what I could get in trade (How about a 918 straight up? )
Anyway, let me know if anyone here has any interest. I'm probably going to go, but it's always more fun to have fellow 928 drivers around.

Looks like I can make it after all. I should be there by 9:30 with the GTS

It turned out to be an amazing event. Hundreds of cars. Every exotic imaginable until the police broke it up. I have to admit I was surprised how much attention the GTS got. Several people made me offers but nothing firm and I don't want to sell but might be hard to pass.

It was such a spectacle with every exotic known to man lined up. It was causing major delays and many close call near accidents due to people stopping on the highway to gawk at all the toys.
Police were real jerks about it even called the staties to be aware of the event letting out.

Maybe not at that location. It was only twice a year there otherwise it is held in Parsippany or Chatham HS every other week or so. PM Porsche is building a new facility hopefully it will be done by the fall. It has 50 acres of grounds so I am sure it will be back better than before.
