Default vibration while accelerating:(

So I get out of work (everything happens when I'm out of work) but I was going to hit the highway and I felt a vibration while accelerating thru 20-50 mph. It vibrates a bit almost like if you where on the right shoulder with the little bumps, but just a little softer. It feels like it loses power but still picks up. It didn't use to do this, I did use techron fuel cleaner and this happened, could it be that?? After going over 50 the vibrations stop? What could it be???

Can you definitely isolate the vibration to the steering wheel, or seat, or could it be the engine? Thinking plug wire, or perhaps huge vacuum leak causing detonation or misfire.
Tied to engine load and rpm, right? So if you coast the vibration goes away?

Not certain what model 928 you have - always helps to give full info on the car...

If you have an '85 or '86, check both coil wires very carefully. The car will run and have decent power on four cylinders, and will smooth out at higher RPM levels - but if you are running on four cylinders, the cats (if you still have them - more info that is needed) may be glowing cherry red.

I have an 84S automatic. And it doesn't vibrate after I hit 50mph, it doeant vibrate while I coast either only from 20-50mph while accelerating. I'm gonna have to check it extensively. Could it still be driven like that? Can the torque tube be fixed out it could be that? Ill do my homework and sew what I can check off

It sounds like you have TT issues between the 2500-3k RPM range?? That's why coasting and past 50 you don't get that vibration. First thing to do is measure if your TT bearings have 'walked'. If so, most likely your problem. Do a search on the forum for the how to...

You stated you feel a vibration while accelerating. Does the vibration go away at steady state cruise? If not, you might want to consider is a wheel out of balance or out of round.

It did go away, the vibration only lasted 1 day, I drove it the next to see if it persisted nd it was gone, so I'm not 2 sure what was wrong

could have been clogged injectors due to the fuel cleaner.

Dude. You are in Dallas. Home to one of the most extensive collection of 928's and some excellent mechanics that work exclusively on 928s. Spend a couple shekels and go see Sean Ratts. He's on here as SeanR. PM him and make an appointment.
I do all of my own work and can tell you if I lived down there I would go right to him on this one.
I have a strange sound coming from somewhere around my TT rear/Torque Converter/Trans. I am planning on driving down in the spring and having Sean look at it and fix it.

Seriously, use the resources you have available, you don't know how lucky you are to live where you do.

Yea It could be that, ima do a fu tune up once I finish this gas tank which should be today. Although it definitely increased my mpg, usually I refill every Thursday I'm refilling Friday:-):-) now I can use my baby 5 days a week:-p

I know I am fortunate to be in Dallas, roger is like 1 hour away from me and Sean probably 1 1/2. I'm in a bind right now so its tough for me to pay Sean to fix her up. I'm currently in the last stages in closing a house and spending on my wedding-.- I'm money drained:/:/

House and marriage. I remember those days. Give it time, the money will flow again.
