S4 won't start
 

Just changed the wheels and now it won't start, battery seems ok, starter does not crank at all, no loud ticking. Just some quiet noise from the CE panel?

Any ideas, relay, alarm?

Tried all keys. :(

If you are getting no response at all my first suspect would be the ignition switch itself- they fail. If it does not make contact then nothing will happen. Jiggling it about a bit may produce a result but will not solve the problem if that is what it is.

Beyond that you are looking at the relay putting power onto the starter motor.

I do not see a direct connection between changing the wheels and this but.......

Usual suspects, right?

Look for the quick win by clean/replace of bat ground strap; change the starter relay with say, horn relay.

If it starts, turn it off. Go thru the electrical anyway. Pull panel, re-fuse, new relays, grounds, etc, new cps, new temp 2, close inspection of injector plug; maf plug.

Generally makes them reliable.

Sometimes if you just hear a click and nothing else the battery does not have enough juice to turn the motor. Turn one of the interior lights on when you try to start it and see if it totally dims out.
Other than that ignition switch, relays, grounds as mentioned before.

Quick check, measure voltage across bat terminals, then from pos terminal to shock tower bolt.

Make similar check at front of car, jumppost to ground with meter.

Thanks guys, I will try again when get home. First checking the battery, then the ignition switch, relay etc.

There is a chance that he car is offended by your choice of wheels and is refusing to go out for fear of embarrassing itself......

since you jacked up the car the battery could have moved,
and thus have a loose connection does the battery have a hold down?
If not it need one, clean the battery connections and the ground connections.

I know that I can sometimes spill battery acid when the car is jacked up

Well she starts again, first try nothing, a little wiggle and it cranked over. So I guess I'm looking at an ignition switch, no biggy. :)

The wheels were my speedlines from the 85, but they don't clear the front brake calipers. :(

Bummer about the fronts not clearing the calipers.

So did you ever look at the battery connections,
and does the battery have a hold down plate?

No, once I got it running I just put it up on the hoist. Will check into the battery soon. Just need to tend to the 85 as I have a few potential buyers coming to look at it.
