Default GTS Left Rear Fender Liners

I have filled a lot of the orders for the left rear liners and have some left over if anyone else wants one.

$585 each plus shipping - Fresh production made on July 2013.

Are those the notorious 'self-destructing' type?

Hi Roger,
could you take a close up photo of the material?
Thanks

Neither are they the noisy plastic aftermarket ones either 8>)

These are the new improved versions direct from Porsche - the ones we have all been talking about for the last couple of months.

As already said they look and feel very different from the old originals. However what they will be like in 20 years time I cannot tell you and I really do not care as I may not be around.

We shipped 12 already and I have another batch coming in after these are gone.

That is just about what I expected the Factory might come up with. Rather than remaking the GTS left form that they destroyed by mistake, they appear to have used the GT/S4 form for the left but are now trimming it a little fatter so it will help to close up the 1 inch gap left when installed in the GTS. The material may be different, but it is pretty obvious that the extra fat trim around the outer rim is just intended to try to hide the one inch gap that caused Roger to return so many of them some time ago. Now you are going to have the gap filled, but ther liner is not not snug with the outer fender like they ought to be.

Nice price too.

Actually not true at all (and when did you become the "Porsche" expert - I wonder how much you buy from them a year) - these are exact fit GTS liners. The sets they supplied made from the S4/GT molds were all taken back by Porsche because it was their mistake. We have already supplied both L&R S4/GT liners and they are as they should be narrower than the GTS.

These all have formed edges so no cutting as you say.

The 928 GTS guys in Germany received theirs last week and the fit is fine - I won't say perfect as we are talking about fender liners here and not precise engineered parts.

Thanks for the Bump as that saved me a sales post.

Only 4 left now until the next batch comes in - plenty of Right GTS liners if you want a factory supplied matched pair.

GTS fender liners as they should be - for SOUND ATTENUATION.

My thoughts exactly .. the ones on mine now are fragile, but still doing the job, after 18 years of use. I'll be happy if I get 18 years out of the new genuine ones, and by the sound of it the material is improved, so it's likely to be longer.

I'd also rather just fit a replacement without farting around with brackets and extra fixings and trimming .. and I prefer original appearance except for items like GB's oil control system and fuel lines, which are difficult to pick as non factory anyway.

I'll report back to this thread, for those of you who are still alive, when the new ones disintegrate.

I'll bump this as well, as they certainly seem to be far superior to the OE product (but then cardboard might have been it's equal!). Glad to see you were successful in getting the guys in the Vaterland interested in helping 928 Owners maintain their cars.

Well Done Roger,

Gary--

Dito: my left hand side rear liner will most likely fall apart the next time I service flush my PSD in the months to come (as it has been near to 2 years ago I did that the last time), however it is now 19 years + 3 months old and has been seeing 161K km (100K miles). So if this new last the same amount of time + km's then I will be happy too.

Dave: I'm looking forward in reading your progress report here around 2030-2035 , and I will do the same too: subscribed !

The new Porsche liners fit very well in the wheel well.
When I was putting in my new GT liner I thought I had to trim which I did and it was a mistake. The liner does not seat properly or as good as the one in there because the foam does not have the "set" on it yet.
The way I got mine installed was to start in the middle of the wheel well. Slide one hand above the liner to locate the mounting hole and use the other hand to put the screw in and together locate and screw it in. Do this for all the mounting holes. It takes some pressure to get the foam to compress and let the screw get a bite. However, when all the mounting screws are in it will sit perfectly.
So fight the urge to trim.

Hi Rog – Please put me in the que for a left and right when you receive your next batch. I’m in no rush—but I do want to get this car back to original while they’re available. Do you happen to know if the box can ship USPS?? I also need both door seals and front/back sunroof seals. 20-yr old rubber and plastic--gotta love it...
