86 manilfold bolt holes simply need reaming by the next drill size up, by a 64th or so. Takes longer to chuck up the bit than to redrill the holes.

I take it you have a set of manifolds?

You are right Fred i should have bought a set. They were very easy to remove (surprisingly) and i'd like to do more detailing anyway when less pressured for time.
Re the front end height:
I measured the height beforehand for the data for other OB owners.

If the height is decreased as much as Mark A. thought, (1 to 1.5")
is an alignment in order in your opinion? Will camber need adjusting?
I would think it would have an effect but not familiar enough with 928s
to know what to expect. I wouldn't want to get in and drive 10 hours
and ruin a set of front tires.

Thanks Chris, will do.

Yes, 928 INTL sent me a very nice set.

Went for a 2 miles trip to settle the front springs a little. Nicely lowered.

^^^ +1 Have you thought about "porsche" script down the sides? (similar to what you have on the roof).

I agree. I wouldn't have thought that orange wheels would look that good on it.

I was very wrong on that.

Thanks Guys, I agree but wish i could get this camera to take a good picture.

I like the belt graphic and will do that down the line at some point.

It handles beautifully and i didn't notice any steering issues with the 951 front wheels. It feels like a track car. Suspension settled quickly.

I broke the passenger side Lexan with my elbow hurrying to take my Son to a baseball game. PITA. meed to replace this for SITM and complete the secondary
glass part to be prepared if i rains.

I took a lot of pics while running errands. For some reason in the pics the wheels look darker and less orange. Samsung camera isn't the best.

I am curious how much weight was gained and will weigh it this week.

Same to you drnick!

It's a lot of fun to drive as i bet your lite 928 is.

I noticed it is easier to throttle steer in second gear now that it is lowered and
has the Konis fitted.

With the Konis it handles great but doesn't beat you up like the Bilstein Sports did when fitted to my Carrera.

Really happy with them.

Hi Matt the car looks cool with the wheels and the rear spacers fitted,
I was wondering a few things,
whats the ride height set at?
The rear looks like its sitting pretty high.
why is the lower perch mount adjuster collar not fitted to the front shock?

Hey Stan!

I set the rear adjusters on the granite work table about 1" lower than the factory set them. They are lower but there is about a 1/2" of lowering adjustment left.

The front non adjustable perch(es) are what my car came equipped with including original Boge shocks.

Stan,
I am thinking the front cross struts
should be painted orange and installed.
It would look very nice and they
offer radiator protection from large road debris.
They are heavy, but i think it looks unfinished w/o them now..

The car is really quick and handles superb, hope you visit and take a spin soon!

Hi Matt, the car just looks great. I haven't chimed in as have been ill for a while and my poor 86.5 has been waiting for over a year to get its engine pulled. You have inspired me to get back to it if just to do a few things each day. I simply love the car. I would have voted for the Gulf blue with the orange but white is my favorite color. I think your duck tail is what Porsche should have gone with. I have a test video around somewhere with the cars running around the test track and some of them have that exact tail. I drove the OB's with no spoiler for over 10 years and love them. There is a huge difference between the 5spd and the Auto. After buying a low mileage 79 Euro Auto, I actually took it to a 928 specialist to tell him something was wrong with it, it was too anemic. Turns out I paid him $100.00 to tell me I had the car running as well as it was going to and that yes, given enough time it would do 100mph. LOL. I was proud that he told me that I had it running as good as it was going to run though. But have to admit the props go out to Mr. Merlin and others here who always helps with out judgment.

Keep going and I hope to see it one day at one of the events.

Ok, am I blind, the car now looks blue???? Ok, I agree with the cross brace idea. Mine are broken and I need to find one. The car definitely needs them I think to keep large obstacles out of the radiator.
