The 928 Owners' Club distributes "The Shark Vibes." The most recent issue was V1, Edition 2 in July. Well worth reading IMO.

Just read this entire thread after having only read the first few pages back in June. Wow! Awesome progress. Your fab skills are excellent, so this beast is obviously in good hands. Can't recall seeing one... Does she have a nickname yet?

I think the gulf blue is the perfect choice, by the way. Saw a race prepped Cayman done up in Gulf Blue at the Glen last October. Stunning.

I hope you'll bring this out to the Glen when you're done!

Question about the hood vents: is there clearance below them to add NACA ducts to focus the air stream? Is the goal to vent hot air, or take in cool air, or both?

Thanks a lot Courtshark, I haven't been to Watkins Glen in a few years but i have seen photos of that Cayman. Just came in from garage, finished taping, took about 2.25 hours. Pretty boring but oh well. There is clearance i believe, my goal was to allow heat to escape only. I also hope the intake tubes will be visible in certain light. I will bring it to the Glen, it's a great running 928.
Thanks again, i appreciate the enthusiasm, it helps a great deal.-Matt

Went back to confirm that you're using nylon door pulls.

Here's a mod of sorts to that panel that you might want to consider: a little pocket on the door to store your phone, wallet, etc. I think you'll miss the shelf, especially without the full console in place.

Matt,
I know its a little late in the game but what about removing the ugly US side marker lights? I removed them on a Euro I had and just left the Euros thin turn signal light behind the front wheels. Never questioned at inspection time.

Exactly what I'd like, did you make these? looks like an RSA panel. Very, very nice job.
No, i won't miss any shelves, the AC, the digital clock or power switches. I cut my teeth with air cooled VWs with 100 hp and 80s 911s.
Won't miss my door glass either. (924 Carrera influence there). Down the road i will try to stump lexan over the quarter windows in the oven and rid the car of those as well. That will be the fun part.
Courtshark, name??
Thanks,-Matt

Great idea and i thought about it (Inspection, what inspection? I know some good guys) but got a little lazy i suppose.
I actually forgot to close the mirror mount holes (realized last night) and just did it with very thin ga. aluminum, got it filled before we leave for the Shore so it has time to cure. The RSR mirrors are a must have.

Looking forward to this. Love the color choice and your tenacity. You are really moving this project along at a good clip. Good luck!

I love to watch your craft. Very nicely done.
I saw this on a UK site and thought of your theme.

And this is Cortina's late rally car in Ireland. A 928 in gulf blue looks very purposeful. I cant wait to see your finished product.

Search user Cortina for some incredible in car rally footage, including this final run:
