Off to the store to get some cheap rattle cans to cover up my Burgundy interior. Strange, I can't find it anywhere in the Blue Book that Burgundy is a deduction...

My '85 auto, white with burgundy interior, looked awesome. I loved it. Got lots of compliments on it.
I'd be curious who was the first poster here to bad mouth burgundy interiors, and then all of a sudden its fashionable to not like burgundy interiors.
So much parroting going on (all over the interwebs really) in an effort to look knowledgeable, the burgundy interior thing is a good example of it, IMO.

Sorry for delay in update guys. So the deal fell through... Not because the car wasn't perfect (he wasnt really expecting show car, just nice, solid and reliable driver), but because it turned out the car had more red flags (don't know all the details on these) a whole bunch of deferred maintenance (surprise surprise) and almost no maintenance records. The guys mechanic had been recommending the guy get a bunch of stuff fixed for years and the guy wouldn't put the money into maintaining it properly. It turned out to be way far off from how it was represented, not even close from what I heard. You know the story, would have taken $10k to get it to where my friend wanted it to begin with. Certainly wasn't on track for buying "the best car he could afford", and that was the intention. So he bailed on it, lost 500 bucks on the deposit but considers it an expensive lesson in how not to go about this. I think its actually a relatively cheap lesson, the expensive lesson is if he had gone through with the transaction. He's taking a bit of a break from shopping while reading some recommended books on buying used Porsches.

If he doesn't mind burgundy, this car might be a better option:

Taking his time to learn more about used Porsches in general, and if he wants a 928, these cars in particular if a good move. As is joining here so he can watch the classifieds section
