Yup. I just went and looked at my GTS. It's a no-side-cooler sure enough.

I'm obviously getting too senile to work on 928s.

I sure hope those oil hoses never leak.
I've been buying radiators with coolers (or adding coolers to good radiators) on the left side and running the oil through both the lower stock cooler and the radiator, for better oil cooling in cars that are subjected to high external temperatures or sit in traffic.

The "dual cooler" radiators that Roger and Mark have been selling work really good, for this application.

A couple of us fitted the radiator with the engine cooler (actually both coolers but the right is not used on the 5 speed) and Greg's smart three way hose setup.
The addition of the radiator oil cooler in line with the under rad oil cooler has increased my oil pressure from 4.5 to 5.0 bar on the top end when at full chat in high ambient temps. More importantly I gained about 0.5 bar at the lower end when in TX 110F in stop go traffic.
Awesome mod for the GTS.

Awesome mod for (90+) GT's also, with the same cooler-under-radiator setup.
We added the left-side cooler and fitted Greg's hose kit before heading to SITM, and it worked great! The thunderstorms all missed us, car ran great, no tickets (in spite of Sue's best efforts...) and we no longer worried about pulling off the highway in blisteringly hot temperatures and getting stuck in traffic.

That's pretty impressive Rog, can this be applied to the S4 or purely a GTS improvement?

Thx

MJ,
You already have the oil cooler in the left side of the radiator. Not an issues with your car.
Became an issue when they removed the rad oil cooler and mounted the oil cooler under the radiator 90+ cars.

So, who's build is this? I gave my Devek away so I don't have one to compare it to.

Why does it take 3 or 4 copper sealing rings on each cooler attachment? Wonder why lose were leaking

Took me over an hour to get this POS out of the car as it is too wide, bad fitment etc. I sure hope it is no longer being produced.

Looks like an earlier 928int radiator..I read that they had some minor fit issues, although mine from 2010 did not.

Sean - Looks like DEVEK (Ron Davis) radiator--same tabs, collars and had a stack of copper washers on the connectors. I think the washers were to extend the connection (IIRC.) It was a little short and couldn't snug the transmission cooler lines without them. Bought mine in 2001 and was still going strong when I sold the car a couple years ago. Lucky I guess... I don't recall any fit problems though other than the bottom fan shroud.

Our radiators do not use PAL nuts to hold the coolers in place like that. Ours coolers are welded in place like this:

I have to say that the welding is impressive on your rad Carl.

(Knock on wood) My radiator isn't leaking but its 27 years old with most of its life in West Coast desert heat and sand exposure.

How much longer do you think I can get out of it?
