Fuse panel doors/covers?
Hi list,
I need to source a fuse panel door or cover. The original items are wood & there seem to have been two versions, an early one piece & a later two piece.
I need a RHD cover for an 82. Does anyone know of a good source?
Or has any company produced replacements for these? It would seem to be an obvious & easy part to replicate & improve on?
Thanks in advance,
Tom

The latest cars through GTS are singe piece covers with different mounting than earlier cars (different CE panel too).
I think the plywood is actually hard to improve upon - its non conductive, strong, light - what more do you want ? seem lots of folks think wood has no place in a car (obviously Morgan doesn't agree). However for this usage metal or plastic would be bad choices.
Think - if a panicked passenger (!) pushed their feet hard on a plastic cover and snapped your CE panel in half - do you think that would cause any problems?
The other advantage of wood - is that it's just wood - easily and cheaply available and if you have common woodworking tools - its easy to make your own cover.
