Strange shut off
Only happened once before. 87 S4. After going about 85mph for 2 miles, slowed to turn and car went dead. Fired right back up. Any idea where to start? Fuel?

Start with a good inspection of your ground strap in the rear and engine ground cable under the car (under passenger footwell). Dissect the ground strap out of its covering.

Unfortunately - while you may find issues there - that wasn't the cause of your shutdown - if this went open circuit the car would not stop. There could be issues - overvoltage etc - its possible that some of these could kill the ECU's - however in this case they would not recover...
Do check all ground points and the battery positive post connections, also all the connections to the jump post...
Replace the ignition EZK/LH and fuel pump relays.

Burning Brakes
When my fuel relay was on its way out, this is what it did. I had two instances of the car just stalling out. Both times it fired right back up and I couldn't duplicate it.
Then the relay went for good and it wouldn't fire back up. Replaced the relay, good as new.
