Default Gearbox input shaft bearing question

Hi; I have a G28/12 gearbox im stripping down. The input bearing is a ball bearing with a groove and a ring on the diameter, ( like a piston ring) on it. I also have a G28/55 that is stripped down and this has a different bearing with a shoulder on it. I cant make out from PET if this is correct, as there is no seperate parts numbers for the bearing and the ring. Is this correct? can the bearings be interchanged, are they better somehow? Comments please?
