Rob Budd dash cover replacement process
I bought a vinyl dash cover from Rob Budd to re-skin my 31 rear old cracked dash. I chose vinyl over leather for low maintenance reasons. I did not want to be having to rub leather conditioner on the dash and get it all over the windshield. I have all the cracks filled using Bondo. I have taken my sweet time and everything is moving along nicely. I smeared way too much Bondo on than I needed and it took me forever to sand it smooth. That stuff is hard as a diamond and the perfect thing to use (just not so much). I will update the pictures as I enter the home stretch. Gunar

Great job Gunar. What style of defrost vent is that in your last pic? I have been told that the vent caps are the key to a successful recover. Can't wait to see the finished product.

why bother with the bondo if you are recovering it?

Cool project. Updates anticipated.
What happens when the bondo cracks loose under the recover?
