Default 101 Projects For Your Porsche 928...

A lot of other models in the Porsche lineup have this book, but not the 928. If you were going to put one together here using Rennlist forum posts, what topics would you cover? I know each model has its own procedures, and there is the DIY and "How To" area of the forum, but what would be best to cover? Not all maintenance topics are covered there. I figure the TB/WP procedure, fuel line replacement, electrical troubleshooting, and... what else?

Just curious, because I'm (slowly) having the maintenance brought up to date on my car - thanks to Matt (Leperboy), Stan (MrMerlin), and Roger (928sRus).

A one stop post would be helpful, that way a directed forum search could be conducted. Sometimes it is difficult to know exactly how to select a term to put into the search engine, especially when you are new to 928s.

It would be interesting to see what topics people would want covered. The biggest thing that I've learned from reading the forum is to NEVER, EVER, total up your parts receipts! I did it - once - and shocked myself (and my credit card).

Thanks Barry and Alan. It would be good to have something like that so a new owner would know what to prioritize for the required maintenance when they first get their car. Then it could move on to mild customizing (spoilers, removing rub strips, wheels/tires, etc.), then go up to performance mods - such as computer chips, gearing, and super/turbo chargers, and then maybe tips on how to prepare your car for a trackday. Sort of a one-stop 928 guidebook. I know I'd like to have an easy to review "book" so I could pick and choose projects on my car as time (and funds) allow. I hate repairing something, only to find out later that there was something else I could have done WYAIT (While You Are In There) that would have saved me time, money, and frustration.

Alan,

All I can say is "Wow!", that is some amazing stuff. Thanks for the link, and you've given me some good ideas. A lot of them will probably just stay as ideas, because I don't even have 1/10th of the skill you have.

I've been going through the forum posts page-by-page and it is amazing how much info is there, a lot of it you can't find by doing a search. I've slowly been compliling my "101 Projects" list. Some are partial posts from various threads that, when combined, make a complete project. A lot of threads start off well, but then kind of get side-tracked. If you have any good threads, especially with a lot of photos, please let me know and I'll add it to my list.

-Steve
