Default Selling my 89 GT

I just don't drive it. I bought it at 124k, and it now has 130k, nearly ten years later.

I've recently done an entire rebuild of the timing belt parts and intake/valve covers.

Every receipt on the car during it's lifetime.

A/C doesn't blow cold air. Cracks in the pod/dash. A bit of wear on the driver's seat bolster. Several paint blemishes in the hood. Front wheels worn on the outside from diving before the alignment.

I paid $17k for the car. And I'm posting this to hear from forum members who are familiar with prices.

I paid $5k just in parts for this recent timing belt work.

I'd like to hear honest opinions on what the car is worth. And then I'll post pictures in this, or in a new thread.

Thanks.

Edit #2- I've omitted details in this post. But I wanted to mention that the timing belt work included a new Porsche oil pump. The crankshaft end play was well within limits.
Edit 3 - New Porsche engine mounts.
- Digital clock works, but has a weird black spot in it.
-Porken tensioner.
-Porsche water pump
-Just changed the transmission oil and limited slip additive.
-New fuel lines
-New cam gears

I love enthusiastic replies.

I'm in no hurry. In fact, I rather enjoy having the car here to just look at.

The last line in my post is asking what the car might be worth.

I thought asking in this forum might give the best answer to what it really is worth.

edit- To be honest, I'd like to get near what I paid.

If the car has never been wrecked and the original paint is salvagable I will give the first guestimate. $15,000.

Never had an accident. The is definitely salvageable.

Thanks. I appreciate the input.

Gregg
Unforunately in the Republic of Kalifornia you must install the air pump to pass smog and the seller is required to have a 90 day old or less smog cert prior to selling the vehicle....

Still I think $15k is fair

Oh dear. Just what I didn't want to hear. I don't want to even think about what has to be done to get that thing back on.

Thanks for the info. Maybe it won't be that big a deal. I'm a master mechanic, so it's just a matter of going through the motions.

this....

One hell of a package for 15K... I'd personally ask more (like around 18 at least)...sounds like you've done the hard stuff..someone can just "clean" it up and have one of the best 928's Porsche ever made...

Good luck on the sale..

OK, I'm now putting the air pump back in. There is motivation again.

To be honest, one of the things that got me in the mood to sell was last week when my buddy drove his Tesla S home.
