Default fan number replace?

Is it possible to replace the face of the fan switch?
Also, should it illuminate when the lights are on. Only the light in the AC switch comes on when depressed

Answer to the first question: Probably, but then I've never seen one as torn up as yours. How did that happen?

Answer to the second question: No. Porsche in their infinite wisdom did not illuminate the fan control ****. It is possible to do it, though. (And not really all that hard) It looks good when done, but I am unsure of the long term reliability of the wiring to do it. Use search for LED replacement in the dash. Several folk have got how-to's for it.

It's a a good question how it got to be this bad. Always been on my to do list and
as I now have most all the mechanicals sorted I'm focusing on the interior and this particular item bugs me. I have looked for replacement units but every time I find one
it's just different enough not to match up and I'm not sure of the compatibility of later years.
When I bought this car it was had been sitting in the California central valley sun
for some time and I don't think the heat was very kind to it.

Rob or Bob Budd's leather shop sells a decal that overlays that area.
