Autotrans overflow hose is pressureless right?

Default Autotrans overflow hose is pressureless right?
The autotrans overflow hose from the ATF reservoir to the trans side is just an overflow hose right? So if the the reservoir gets too full, ATF flows back into the trans? (anybody knows where it goes exactly?). This means, there is no pressure on the hose ever?

Ok thanks, just making sure there isn't danger of spraying ATF onto a hot mid muffler.
