Pro tip: There is no fast way to dispense 75w-90 gear oil that has been stored in a 60 degree garage. Create a beer bong/IV bag and let it drip. Work on something else and come back later.

This would be a good time to put in a S4-up valley plug if you can find one (from a bad block) for a knock light?
Knocklink G4 is the only decent one I can find anymore: (I used a KnockLite, but those are NLA.)

Single knock sensor placement, S3, with S4 knock sensor and valley plug:

Ken is that gear aluminum?,
If so you should replace it with the steel gear ,
if you do swap in a steel gear it will not have any coating on it,
BUT you do remove the 1MM spacer thats behind the aluminum gear when fitting the steel version

its hard to tell,
but the oil pump must have the outer gear oriented so that the dot on its face faces the block, otherwise the pump will seize.
I use STP to prime the pump,
the bigger the glob the better the job
