Power steering pump inlet and high pressure outlet thread?
I'm going to convert my power steering lines to use -AN fittings, i will keep the pre-formed hard lines, and the fittings on the rack itself won't need to be touched, all i want to do is essentially replace the rubber lines with -AN hose and hose ends. 3 things i need to do this:
-Thread dimensions for pump inlet and high pressure outlet?
-What size -AN hose should i use for pump inlet line and high pressure outlet/return lines?
-Where the HECK can you find 10mm hard line compression fitting to -AN adapters?? 3/8 is close but won't work since that gives you only 9.525mm diameter
To everyone out there who will be criticizing converting to -AN hose and end fittings, it is my car and my money. If i end up having leaks/problems then it is my own fault, and yes, i am only doing it because it looks cool, but also so i can change out the lines easily if they ever start leaking, since the hard lines coming out of the rack aren't usually the typical leak points on the PS lines.
Also, i will probably be buying an aftermarket PS resevoir with male -AN ports, so no hose clamps will need to be used.

haa your funny,
the PS lines usually last from 10 to 20 years before they start leaking,
swapping in new lines usually takes care of leaks and this is usually done when MMs or T belts get swapped out.
If you really want to spend some coin on hoses i suggest to get a set of Greg Browns lines for the fuel system.
Otherwise GB may have the fittings your looking for to add the PS lines.
The other issue you may have is that the pump lines may interfere with the oil cooler lines ,
there isnt much room to have more hose in that area

It's hard to visualize the routing with the car not in front of me. I plan to keep the same lengths. I posted about converting the engine bay fuel lines to -AN and he said that the adapters required for it are just more points that leaks could develop, which i totally agree on. The original radiator had the radiator integral oil cooler, i plan to buy a good used original external oil cooler and use that instead.

the oil cooler lines that i am referring to are the ones that come out of the block,
they curve perfectly around the back of the PS pump,
if you add more to the rear of the pump you will probably have fitment issues.
Really though this is uncharted territory,
as swapping in different PS lines for a street car isnt something that I would have ever dreamed up ,
because the factory lines work so well

i ended up having a shop rebuild the stock lines for a late model car, but i used the old style metal PS reservoir, so i TIG welded an 8AN male fitting to the bottom of the can, then ran a line to a modified banjo bolt on the late model pump. but i think i will change that banjo fitting out for a male adapter. i think its 16m x 1.5? i will have to double check that....

xschop just look at the parts catalog available at the Porsche website, it shows the PS system. I know Aeroquip makes GM power steering -AN adapters for sure.
The Need For Speed ricer in me is coming out, as one of the main reasons for doing this is because i like the way it looks :P I need the metric to male -AN adapters so i can then put the 90 degree fittings on them.
Ducman are the inlet and outlet threads on the PS pump the same size? I cannot remember because the car isn't here in London with me. I can only work on it on the rare holidays where i have enough time to go home.

The I let on the later style are 16x1.5. Not sure on the pressure side. Check what PET say for the banjo bolt on te pressure side, see if it lists the size. The older style pump I let is 18x1.5

Already been there Ducman, i looked at the PET to see what fittings i will need to convert the rubber lines to -AN hose/ends, just says "A10 banjo bolt" or something along those lines.
Edit: Found a place in Europe that deffinitely has the 10mm compression fitting to -AN adapter.

So it is out there, just very hard to find.
