Default Cayman wins Daytona 24hr

Last weekend the GX series of the Daytona 24hr was won by a Porsche Cayman. There competition in the class werent competetive but the Cayman lap times were very impressive when compared to the GT class 911s which was won by Audis.

As the 928s were that much more than 911s of the day it'll be interesting to watch what the factory strategy will be with the Cayman.

Perhaps the new 928 with Caymans etc will be the way forward?

Caymans ran a great race.

Properly fitted Caymans could be very competitive in the GT class.

New 928 and Cayman goooooooooood

I watched a largfe portion of that race too. I was glad to see how well the Cayman did. The ending was pretty predictable with thos R8's, which I love as well. All in all, I like watching races with cars that at least look like (mostly) cars that you can actually go out and buy; and that don't drive round and round in an oval.

no they wont but they may make the 911 mid engined or perhaps rebadge the new 928 which of course is front engined

theres a great thread over on the racing site where the leading 911 team posted why they finished where they did........no gas.
