Default intake refresh

Just a thank you to Mrmerlin. Just finished washing my air-boxes for the fourth time today. amazing the amount of grit that was still in them after the initial wash. The 85-86 air-boxes are especially hard to clean properly after media blasting. The airhorns do not allow you to get any scrubbing device inside to properly scrub them out. I may clean them one more time just to be safe.
Thanks again.

Art I used a bottle brush and still ended up washing mine five times just to be sure.

What color did you re-coat them with?

Should receive my new fuel lines this week. Then I can put the air-boxes back on. Oh wait. I still have to put the plug wires, caps and rotors on. Then headers, new motor mounts, and still need to order PorKen chips. And the list goes on. Spring is my goal. I can't wait to have my first drive.

Might as well dial in your cam timing while your at it... a few degrees makes ALL the difference especially if your gonna Porkenize the engine! Adjusted my 86.5 from a few degrees advanced to "0" and "-2" degrees because I had a little pinging... cured that issue and picked up an additional 15 hp. Ken (Porken) has the timing tool & bumpstick on his site and they are worth the $$ - unless you know someone who already has them...

Nice looking intake

Haven't met anyone yet. But looking forward to it. My goal is to drive to Sharktober next fall.

I have Kens' 32vr for the cam timing and his BlinK'r for adjusting the CO etc, I could hook you up with 'em and help with their use. I haven't been anywhere near Woodinville, the farthest north I make it is Federal Way, but we could work something out, or you could cruise down here and we could put her on the lift...

Shane that would be great. I'm still a ways off yet. After I get the motor back in I still have to do the rear axles. Torn outer boot on the passenger side.
