Laser jammer recommendation?
New guy checking in!! Name's Brian, from MI obviously.
I have an '84, 5-speed, and she's gonna get me in trouble!! I've been searching the web, found G.O.L. and Radar Roy, but I'm not finding anything very recent, even here.
I want to get a laser jammer and a radar detector. I'm not as concerned about the detector, as there seems to be plenty out there that will do the job. The jammer is my bigger problem I think. I'm leaning towards the Blinder HP-905 or maybe the LI. Anybody have any experience with these 2, or something else I should seriously consider?
TIA everybody!!

I use the Mk I eyeball, with over 20 years of driving it has only let me down twice, so not a bad record. The added advantage is that it is free and can be transferred between cars without issue.

I had a black/black '84 5 speed for a short time earlier this year. Caught up a lot maintenance on it, drove it when I could, and then resold it. That car was a blast to drive. 240hp isn't much by today's standards, but a good running 928 of any variety is a very tempting car.

Hey MI650: There is quite a support group here in Michigan, esp in the metro Detroit area and Lansing. The internationally famous 928 enthusiast Andrew Olson (AO) from the Detroit area has a jammer that has saved his azz a few times and he will probably chime in here in the next day or so. Where are you located in MI and tell us a little bit about you and your 928.

I live in Taylor, not too far from AO from what I've gathered. I read his thread about his adventure on Ecorse Rd!!
I just got the car in August, a birthday present from my wife!! This is my mid-life crisis car. I looked at a 944, another 928, and a couple Vettes before deciding on this 1. The other 928 was an auto, and I had to have a manual. I've always loved 928s, and when my wife said she like it better than the Vette I almost bought, that sealed the deal.
She has 121k miles, runs strong, interior is in great shape for her age. Needs a paint job. I've taken her on a few road trips up north and just love the ride. It's mainly those country roads up there, wide open, so nice and smooth, that will get me in trouble. It's just too much fun driving up there.

I use the Passport 9500CI. I have this unit installed in my 2013 Mercedes E350, 2012 Acura MDX and my 1986 Porsche 928S. The unit ROCKS!! has never let me down and i've been hit with laser many times! PM me for a hook up.

My advice is to get the new passport for its GPS abilities and also run a valentine for its radar range, laser capabilities and directional arrows. A 928 without a front license plate is a hard target. If u have to run a front plate get a laser plate cover. I have read a bit about a front bra that can distort laser but it still leaves your running lights vulnerable.

Nope, no front plate, and I was thinking that a 928 is a hard target for laser. I think being black helps too. I've been considering Veil for the driving lights. I'm sure it would be a lifetime supply just for that, but would probably put it my wife's and son's cars. They both drive Mustangs.
I'm curious why you have 2 radar detectors though.
