That looks larger than the standard double DIN units... Do you have the dimension info?

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/ine-z928hd/Specs

Dimensions
Din Size: 2
Chassis Size (W x H x D) mm: 178mm x 100mm x 165mm
Chassis Size (W x H x D) in: 7'' x 3-15/16'' x 6-1/2''
Nose Piece Size (W x H x D) mm: TBD
Nose Piece Size (W x H x D) in: TBD

Does look bigger, but not if the specs are correct. Same depth as Keith's old AVIC-D2, is likely going to require footwell flap relocation.

Those specs are wrong... nothing on that unit is 3-15/16'' which is listed as the height.

and then the size for the nose is TBD? to be determined? sounds like they didn't finish measuring it..... that is why I asked what the measurements were...

Just wanted to update that I recieved my prototype flush mount conversion from Allan.

It looks Fantastic! While I haven't had the chance to install it yet, by looking at it I can't forsee any reason while it won't work perfect!

Its a Great qualty made piece and I give it two thumbs up.

Ill update this again once its fully mounted.

PS. I have the latest version with the round vents, I think this a great way to update the looks of the dash. Looks very modern.

so i had never figured out a way to close the center flap with the stock "lever" on the side. SOOOO, I adapted and overcame the problem.

using parts form an early car i have collected, i was able to get the **** to work. i used a piece of large gauge wire due to the angle, and it works!

By the way if anyone noticed, that is one of the custom HVAC displays I had made up (blue) I still have an extra of the grey ones available for anyone interested. I know these match up with the 86-95 layout, not sure on the OB's
