Car looks like it could have been saved, but maybe not.

Look for anything that might have been tweaked during removal or shipping, bent pulleys, etc.

Longer term I would pull the heads and pan for a full inspection, maybe do an oil analysis.

Its a special car, hopefully all of it will go to good homes since we know it had one.

When I saw the jump post cover sitting in that one ridesafely image I was sure I'd seen it before.

I was going to do a top end refresh this winter. There are some mushy hoses and thats an indication that it's time.

FWIW, I'm glad it's being reborn here on RL. The car was repairable, but it would have been worth less than the agreed value I had on it. Hagerty paid me off, I took my money and bought my 89. the buy back was 4500. I didn't want to pay that much, so I let it go. I'm happy, and the OP has a great engine.

Thanks for the info. Knowing all that just increased the value of the engine significantly. It was clearly a well maintained engine, but now there's more certainty.

It will be brought back, but not in the conventional way. More like Alex Murphy was brought back as the Robocop.

Knowing what torture you have in mind for that engine, total rebuild :-)
