Click on the VIN number in your post - the forum auto-directs it to a VIN decoder, but probably not as detailed as Erkka's report.

S3s for California get a different hood sticker.

Otherwise, the only difference Fed vs. Cal. is the vacuum hose at the front of the TB is moved from one barb to the other.

the only really weird part is that my car seems to have an automatic transmission in it.... guess somebody switched it over at some point, strange, the whole setup looks pretty factory..

Odd - the VIN shows up with engine type M28.43 which confirms it should be a 5-speed. Surprising as most conversions tend to be from auto to 5-speed.

It should confirm the engine type on the block, and also on the sticker in the rear hatch.

It would be the first occurrence of incorrect data in the PET7.3 lookup that I've seen - please let us know what the sticker says on it (or the block - but the sticker is less likely to have been changed).

Hi Guys, I have the same issue of the options sticker being missing and was puzzling over how to find out these things. I am based in the UK and to the best of my knowledge my car is a 928 built and registered in 1982, Guards Red with black leather interior with pasha inserts ( wow very retro funky!!)

My VIN is WPOZZZ92ZC5800351
and doesn't want to work in the decoder at all.

Engine code is M28.10 4,5L 8 1982 Porsche 928 M249 (177Kw / 241Hp) 80C5001 >> 8000

Colour sticker is 027 92 g1

All information provided would be gratefully received

Matt

The sticker in the hatch is long gone , when I get home from work I will try to get a picture of engine tag, about a year back I replaced the tt bearings and upgraded the front flex-plate clamp, everything in the rear suspension/transmission appeared to be unmolested since the factory!
