Default defroster defogger relay repair solution

I have repaired my defective defroster defogger relay (timer function defective-relay stay on if pushed until battery drained) I have replaced 2 capacitor, 3 transistor and 1 trimmer

I have tested (with my switch and an external power pack) my relay in this way:

This is the connections diagram to test relay (on the switch and on the relay there are written number like 87,15,31 and etc...)

Good work! It will be nice to have a fix for a very irritating problem.

So did you play with adjusting the delay? What is the range?

about 10 minutes. I don't know if the trimmer adjust the delay (i did not try because 10 minutes it's ok for me). I put my trimmer halfway. Do want know how many ohm at the trimmer ?

I think the only thing it can control is the delay... Would have been interesting to know how much variation was possible (not for any very practical purpose mind you!)

Good job figuring out the fix!!

Could we persuade you to add the specifications for the replaced components?
Do you still feel that these all needed replacement in your case?

capacitor 680 uF 16V sostituted with 680 uf 25v
capacitor 1 uF 100v
transistor bc328-25
transistor bc557b
transistor bc327-25
trimmer 470 kohm (i don't remember well because this is the first component that i had try to replace but the relay still did not work)

I don't know precisely what was or what were the defective components but i think could be transistor firts and after old capacitor, but i'm not a realy expert electronic technician.

however, with the cost of very few dollars it's possible to repair the relay, so maybe it's best to replace all components
