The car now belongs to the insurance company pending any negotiations to retain title....it is toast !! And will be branded as a flood car.

As the witness to countless underwater camera floodings, don't give up. Hit it with fresh water ASAP and as much as you can. Dry it out the same way. Attack it aggressively and you CAN prevail!

Alexi, horrible news. Hope you can fix it.

Hope your family and all our other NY/NJ friends are safe and well.

Just got power back on here in Baltimore. Other than a few trees down and no power for a few days and crap everywhere, no big problems, thank God.

If the insurance treats you right there is a very sweet SC S4 on Ebay right now for 25K. I think you might even like the color. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Alexi, I remember when you first got that car and You came up to our event and got a flat. I'm only about an hour north of you and if you can get the car here i will help you dry it out and get it running. You pay for parts and I will work for beer,or vodka. I'm sure we could probably muster some other folks as well. We have the tools and equipment here to make this happen. I even have an industrial dehumidifier!

Just talked to Steve G and he and his family are doing well in Upper Manhattan. He's been taking it easy since his work in Lower Manhattan doesn't have power yet. His home on Long Island sustained minimal damage. I was so glad to hear this!

Now we need to find out about Ernest in NY and Thom and his family on the south eastern part of Long Island.

Hey Ed....!! That's the best idea yet....!

Cannot think of a better facility to rescue Alexei's S4.

Let us know if we can help.....

Regardless of the insurance aspect,

I would get the 928 up to Ed as fast as possible......

Sorry Alexi...

I know where you are and folks-this is the least of his concerns. We got away unscathed other than power. Mom and her boyfriend? Well all their personal belongings are fine as are their cars-but their apartment buildings are a mess as is their towns (Long Beach, NY and Lido Beach, NY). They are with us for now...

My cars are all fine. My 928 is at Pete (El Greco's) shop getting the TB/WP done. Otherwise, no issues but Pete has no power so no work...sucks...

The amount of water and crap in it is far more than just a salt issue...

Mom's building parking lot and 3 other shots (sand shot is her back area--the fence in the distance is 3 feet tall-and now the area is filled with sand).

Quick Reply: Turns out these cars are not real sharks...
